Frequently Asked Questions

Answers before you sign

Everything you need to know about booking, fees, ID requirements, and what a California notary can and can't do.

Booking & appointments

How do I book an appointment?

Use our online booking page to choose your service, see an itemized estimate, and pick an available time through our Secure Booking Portal. You can also call or text (323) 709-8585.

Will I get a confirmation and reminders?

Yes. You'll receive an emailed receipt for any amount paid at booking. Once we review and accept your request, you'll get a confirmation, followed by automatic text and email reminders. To reschedule or cancel, reply to your text or call us.

Is my appointment confirmed as soon as I book?

Not yet. Every online booking starts as a request. We confirm it only after we've verified your details and your payment has gone through. If we can't take the appointment, you're refunded in full.

Do you offer evening appointments?

Yes, by advance booking only. Our regular hours are Wednesday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday through Tuesday, 3 PM to 6 PM.

Can you come today?

Often, yes. Same-day appointments are available based on our schedule, with a $50 rush fee. Call or text to check availability.

Fees & payment

How much does a notary cost in California?

California law sets the maximum notary fee per notarized signature. We charge the state maximum per signature, plus a separate travel or visit fee for coming to you. See our pricing page for full details.

Why is there a travel fee?

The notary fee covers the notarization itself. The travel fee covers our time and travel to your location. It is always listed separately and agreed to before your appointment.

What do I pay when I book?

Only the agreed travel fee for your zone, or the flat visit, signing, or apostille fee. Notary fees are never charged in advance. They're paid at your appointment, after the notarizations are done. Loan signings arranged by a title, escrow, or signing company are paid by that company.

What if more or fewer signatures are notarized than I estimated?

Your notary fee is based on the signatures actually notarized, so the final amount goes up or down to match. The travel fee you already paid isn't charged again.

Can I get a refund?

The amount paid at booking is fully refunded if we can't accept your request, if we cancel, or if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. It becomes non-refundable once we're on our way or with less than 24 hours' notice. See our full cancellation and refund policy on the Privacy & Policies page.

How do I pay?

We accept credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash. Card payments use secure payment processing provided by Square, our payment processor, and you'll receive an emailed receipt.

Notary requirements

What ID do I need?

Each signer needs a current, government-issued photo ID, such as a California driver's license or ID card, a U.S. passport, or another ID accepted under California law. If a signer has no acceptable ID, ask us about credible witnesses.

Should I sign my document before you arrive?

No. Please leave the signature lines blank. For most notarizations, you must sign in front of the notary.

Can you tell me which form or certificate I need?

No. Notaries can't give legal advice or choose a notarial certificate for you. Please check with the agency, attorney, or person who will receive your document.

Can you notarize for someone who isn't present?

No. Every signer must personally appear before the notary, be alert, and sign willingly.

Do you keep copies of my documents?

No. We don't keep copies of your documents. California law requires notaries to record each notarization in a journal, which we keep secure.

Services

Do you do remote or online notarizations?

Not at this time. California-commissioned notaries can't yet perform remote online notarizations, so all our notarizations are in person.

Can you help with immigration forms?

We can notarize your signature, but we can't prepare, select, or give advice on immigration forms. Notaries in California are not immigration consultants.

Do you issue apostilles?

Apostilles for California documents are issued by the California Secretary of State. We notarize when needed, prepare and submit your request, and return the apostilled document to you, with state fees included in our price. Pricing is $350 for the first document and $95 for each additional document in the same order, with Rush (+$75) and VIP same-day (quoted) options.

How far do you travel?

We serve all of Los Angeles County. Travel fees depend on distance and are quoted before you book.
